HeroCare Connect Sponsors Commanders Luncheon Strengthening Ties Between Military and Community

HeroCare Connect once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the military community by sponsoring the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Commanders Luncheon on January 23, 2025, in Mount Laurel, NJ. This marks the second consecutive year that HeroCare Connect has sponsored this important event, following their successful involvement in 2024.

The Commanders Luncheon provided a unique opportunity for local business leaders and community members to engage directly with top military officials from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL). Attendees received firsthand updates on the base’s activities and gained valuable insights into how local leadership impacts national defense. This event is part of a broader effort to cultivate community leadership and increase public awareness of the installation’s missions, policies, and programs.

The event was attended by several high-ranking military officials, including members of the JB MDL Commander and 87th Air Base Wing Commander, Army Support Command, NSA Lakehurst Command, 305th Air Mobility Wing, 621st Contingency Response Wing, and the 514th Air Mobility Wing. Key figures from HeroCare Connect and its partner organizations were also in attendance, including Jim Andrews, President and CEO, Deborah Heart and Lung Center; Christine Carlson-Glazer, MPH, Vice President of Government, Community and Military Relations, Deborah Heart and Lung Center; and Maggie Mary, HeroCare Connect Patient Service Specialist.

HeroCare Connect, a collaboration between Deborah Heart and Lung Center and Cooper University Health Care, has been instrumental in providing rapid access to specialty medical services for active duty and retired military personnel, veterans, and their families. The program’s sponsorship of the Commanders Luncheon aligns perfectly with its mission to support and serve the military community.

Christine Carlson-Glazer emphasized the importance of such events, stating, “Our participation in the Commanders Luncheon allows us to strengthen our ties with both military leadership and the local community. It’s an opportunity to showcase how HeroCare Connect is making a real difference in the lives of service members and their families.”
